Accessible Voter-Verifiability
نویسندگان
چکیده
All voter-verifiable voting schemes in the literature require that the voter be able to see and to mark. This paper describes modifications to the Prêt à Voter and PunchScan schemes so that a voter who can either see or hear, or both, independent of marking ability, may avail of voter-verifiability without revealing her vote. The modified systems would provide privacy and integrity guarantees that are currently available only to voters who can both see and mark.

Privacy and Verifiability in Voting Systems: Methods, Developments and Trends
One of the most challenging aspects in computer-supported voting is to combine the apparently conflicting requirements of privacy and verifiability. On the one hand, privacy requires that a vote cannot be traced back from the result to a voter, while on the other hand, verifiability states that a voter can trace the effect of her vote on the result. This can be addressed using various privacy-e...
متن کاملA Secure Internet Voting Scheme
We describe information security requirements for a secure and functional Internet voting scheme. Then we present the voting scheme with multiple parties; this voting scheme satisfies all these security requirements. In this scheme, the voter gets a signed key from the registrar, where the registrar signs the key as blinded. The voter uses this signed key during the voting period. All other par...
متن کاملAnonymity and Verifiability in Voting: Understanding (Un)Linkability
Anonymity and verifiability are crucial security requirements for voting. Still, they seem to be contradictory, and confusion exists about their precise meanings and compatibility. In this paper, we resolve the confusion by showing that both can be expressed in terms of (un)linkability: while anonymity requires unlinkability of voter and vote, verifiability requires linkability of voters and el...
متن کاملA Roadmap to Fully Homomorphic Elections: Stronger Security, Better Verifiability
After the trials of remote internet voting for local elections in 2011 and parliamentary elections in 2013, a number of local referendums has renewed interest in internet voting in Norway. The voting scheme used in Norway is not quantum-safe and it has limited voter verifiability. In this case study, we consider how we can use fully homomorphic encryption to construct a quantum-safe voting sche...
متن کاملHow to Challenge and Cast Your e-Vote
An electronic voting protocol provides cast-as-intended verifiability if the voter can verify that her encrypted vote contains the voting options that she selected. There are some proposals of protocols with cast-as-intended verifiability in the literature, but all of them have drawbacks either in terms of usability or in terms of security. In this paper, we propose a new voting scheme with cas...
